IRVINE, Calif., May 20, 2025 – Profiles in Leadership Journal selected James M. Le of Stretto as a recipient of the 2025 Asian Leadership Award. The publication recognized James, an executive with more than 20 years of expertise in the corporate-restructuring industry, for his career achievements and leadership as president and chief operating officer at Stretto.

“We are honored to celebrate the remarkable and diverse achievements of Asian leaders,” stated James Rector, publisher of Profiles in Leadership Journal. “It is equally thrilling to acknowledge the companies and organizations that champion and facilitate their success. We eagerly anticipate highlighting these exceptional individuals who are dedicated to serving their clients, colleagues and communities.”

As president and chief operating officer at Stretto, James directs the day-to-day management of the firm’s overall business functions, as well as providing oversight to client services, the company’s generative AI initiatives, and expansion into tangential business segments. At Stretto, James has achieved significant success leading senior management teams, executing three strategic acquisitions, and shaping industry standards in Stretto’s market-leading segments. As the lead inventor on Stretto’s patent-pending technology, he directed the development and implementation of Stretto Conductor, a generative AI communication and research platform designed for corporate bankruptcy cases.

Before joining Stretto, James held C-suite and executive leadership positions at another claims administration firm where he was responsible for corporate development and P&L performance, leading to a successful company acquisition by a global firm. Prior to that, James consulted for FTI Consulting and PwC. Early in life, James was among the ‘boat people’ who escaped Vietnam in 1985 with his brother and mother and immigrated to the United States after spending two years in refugee camps in Hong Kong and the Philippines.

“I’m deeply honored to be recognized for my career achievements among other highly accomplished Asian leaders in the business and legal communities,” Le comments. “My accomplishments would not have been possible without the hard work and sacrifices that my parents made for me and my siblings. I would not be where I am today without them and the support of my wife Maisa, and mentors, Eric Kurtzman and Jonathan Carson, who supported me throughout my career.”

The 2025 Asian Leadership Award program recognized James among eleven award honorees. These distinguished leaders highlight themselves by garnering respect for their ability to influence peers, mentor the next generation of leaders, and make significant contributions to their fields and society-at-large. Profiles in Leadership Journal will feature the honorees in an upcoming issue.
